Health Support Groups

Peer and professional support groups and one-on-one supports are available for specific health conditions and lived experiences such as grief, blindness, and deafness.

Provides three kinds of support groups to help individuals living with epilepsy. Groups include:

Knowledge is Power: Participants share challenges and the accomplishments of their epilepsy journey. Guest speakers are also invited to share their expertise in a variety of topics applicable to the epilepsy community.

Accelerated Long Term Forgetting (ALF) Support Group: For individuals living with ALF to support each other by sharing stories and helpful strategies for increasing their wellbeing and quality of life. This group is working on developing tools and resources for people who need support with ALF but who do not live in a city or town with extra supports.

Mind Matters: A weekly support group for individuals who are navigating life with epilepsy. To register click here or contact Info@epilepsymaritimes.org for more information.

Provides online community for individuals with Crohn's diseases, ulcerative colitis or other forms of inflammatory bowel disease( IBD).Crohn's and Colitis Connect platform connect members of the Crohn's and Colitis Canada team and others affected by these diseases to get advice, emotional support and information. Includes:

  • Connect with experienced individuals
  • Get advice about managing symptoms, navigating treatment and caring those affected
  • Join virtual peer connect events
  • Find information from evidence-based resources
