Provides three kinds of support groups to help individuals living with epilepsy. Groups include:

Knowledge is Power: Participants share challenges and the accomplishments of their epilepsy journey. Guest speakers are also invited to share their expertise in a variety of topics applicable to the epilepsy community.

Accelerated Long Term Forgetting (ALF) Support Group: For individuals living with ALF to support each other by sharing stories and helpful strategies for increasing their wellbeing and quality of life. This group is working on developing tools and resources for people who need support with ALF but who do not live in a city or town with extra supports.

Provides an 8-session virtual program for adults with epilepsy experiencing cognitive challenges. Working one-on-one with a certified cognitive coach, participants learn practical strategies to improve memory, thinking skills, and daily functioning, helping them feel more confident and in control. Includes:

  • Education to teach participants the basics about memory and how seizures and variables related to epilepsy may impact their memory and cognition
  • Self-awareness training to teach participants to be aware of the multiple internal and external influences that may impact memory and thinking
  • Memory strategies to help improve day-to-day cognitive challenges. The HOBSCOTCH Memory Toolbox provides tried and true strategies to help participants feel more in control
  • Problem Solving Therapy (PST) to help you identify memory-related challenges in their daily life and find solutions to manage these problems
  • Mindfulness, including progressive muscle relaxation and deep breathing exercises, to help reduce stress and anxiety

Provides a nine-week virtual group program for individuals who are newly diagnosed or adjusting to an epilepsy to learn skills and strategies for social and community adjustment with active seizure conditions. Learning modules include:

  • Compensating for cognitive challenges

  • Managing Epilepsy Care
  • Effective communication about Epilepsy
  • Health and wellbeing
