Health Support Groups

Trained volunteers provide one-on-one telephone and internet based peer support for people with a diagnosis of MS and their caregivers. There are two options, ONECALL and EXTENDED.

ONECALL is for individuals who have a specific question or issue related to MS.

EXTENDED is for individuals looking for a listening ear from someone who understands and has lived experience with MS. Duration is six months and the time to be matched can take up to 6 weeks.

Provides peer support and short-term counselling for individuals who are affected by pancreatic cancer.

One-on-one peer support: Provides trained volunteer-run online one-on-one peer support via phone or video call, offering emotional support and other resources.

Short-term online counselling: Provides short-term online counselling with a professional counsellor to help navigate the mental toll of one's medical journey.

In addition to one-on-one peer support, a monthly support group is provided as an opportunity to meet with others to form a community based on their shared experiences and unique challenges.

Both programs are offered in partnership with Wellspring.

Provides a virtual support group for parents of a child living with vision loss, in a more rural community. Common questions and concerns are covered during the meeting. Topics include:

• Inclusive activities
• Advocacy
• Transportation
• Financial assistance
• School inclusion
• Friendships and more

Provides a nine-week virtual group program for individuals who are newly diagnosed or adjusting to an epilepsy to learn skills and strategies for social and community adjustment with active seizure conditions. Learning modules include:

• Epilepsy and medical Issues
  
• Compensating for cognitive challenges
  
• Getting the most out of community Living
  
• Managing Epilepsy Care
  
• Effective communication about Epilepsy
  
• Health and wellbeing
  

Provides online support groups for individuals living with pain.

Offers a national one-on-one peer mentoring program that connects individuals with Parkinson's and their care partners to trained volunteer mentors. Includes:

• Shared lived experience
• Helping reduce isolation
• Building resilience
• Offering guidance

Meetings can take place virtually, in person, or in hybrid formats.
