Mental Health Supports

Provides six free online therapy sessions for adults with Intellectual Disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder experiencing mental health concerns and/or in need of behavior support.

This program is in partnership with and delivered by Your Life Design.

Provides free and immediate mental health counselling to help with anxiety, as well as life events causing stress or other mental health issues. Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis, but visitors will be connected with a counsellor as soon as possible. Sessions are up to 60 minutes with a registered mental health therapist who may also make referrals to other mental health services.Locations and times:

• Charlottetown - Provincial Addictions Treatment Facility:
  • Clinic is for addictions or substance use related concerns
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 7am-4pm (please arrive by 3pm) and Tuesday 7am-6pm (please arrive by 5pm)
• Charlottetown - at 18 Queen Street, Suite 106 (Former location James B. Jenkins Center which was a replacement of Richmond Centre):

Provides a support network that offers bullied youths assistance via telephone, email, and text(SMS). Support includes:

• Identify problems and solve them
• One-on-one conversations with bullied youth and their families
• One-on-one conversations with bullies, their parents, teachers, guidance counsellors, principals, and school board staff, local social service, and when it's necessary local police.

• Individual therapy
• Couples and partners therapy
• Sex therapy
• Gender affirming assessments

Professional counsellors are available to help young people deal with concerns, large or small, by telephone or live chat. Examples of these concerns include:

• Bullying
• Violence and abuse
• Housing
• Legal aid
• Sexual health
• Issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity
• Suicide

Kids Help Phone counsellors can also provide information and referral to local services. The service is free, anonymous, and confidential.

Group mentoring program for girls ages 12 to 14 years that promotes physical activity, healthy eating, and positive self-esteem. The program aims to support healthy personal development and build a positive self-image through four to six mentoring sessions, each lasting 90 minutes. Sessions are led by two volunteer mentors and include groups of eight to 10 participants.
