Supports off-reserve Indigenous people who are experiencing home insecurity or who are facing the imminent threat of homelessness due to temporary and unexpected housing situations. Supports include:

• Front-line support
• Referrals
• Housing placements
• Access to culturally relevant activities to promote self-sufficiency and involvement in the NCPEI community

Provides an overnight emergency shelter for women and TwoSpirit (2S) individuals, with or without children, who are escaping gender-based and/or family violence. Shelter services include:

• Beds
• Food and drink
• Access to laundry facilities and hygiene products
• Storage for belongings
• Local transportation may be available (call for details)
• Case management and safety planning, with referrals to other service organizations as needed
• Wrap-around, trauma-informed support and culturally appropriate programs
• Assistance with housing placement, job skills, life skills, and more

Note: This shelter is a drug- and alcohol-free facility, and all programming is delivered from an Indigenous perspective.

Provides shelter accommodation for women in Epekwitk / PEI. Residents have access to:

• Employment services
• Parenting programs
• Life skills programs
• Services of the Lennox Island Health Centre
• A safe and supportive housing environment

Emergency stays at the shelter can be up to six weeks. Indigenous women who have left a violent relationship or who find themselves in a homeless situation can apply and be assessed for a one year stay at the shelter.

Transportation can be arranged.

Provides outreach, advocacy and follow-up services that address the social and emotional needs of BIPOC individuals on PEI. This is provided through:

• Assessment of needs
• Support
• Connecting to resources
• Advocacy
• System navigation
• Assistance with filling out forms
• Accompaniment to meetings
• Other needs as they arise
• Identification of system gaps and engaging the community to fill those gaps

Navigation and advocacy support is available around issues of:

• Justice
• Education
• Health care
• Housing
• Employment
• Discrimination
