PEI Pharmacare - Seniors' Drug Program

Provides eligible seniors with partial cost coverage for approved medications.

Note: Participants pay $8.25 plus $7.69 of the pharmacy professional fee for each prescription out of pocket and remaining costs are covered by the program.

PEI Pharmacare - Sexually Transmitted Disease Drug Program

Provides eligible applicants with full cost coverage of approved drugs for the treatment of sexually transmitted infection (STI).

PEI Pharmacare - Smoking Cessation Program

Helps residents who want to stop smoking or using other tobacco products by covering 100% of the cost of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) products and specific smoking cessation prescription drugs. There are two options for treatment, available once a year for 6-18 weeks of treatment:

Option 1: Non-Prescription Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products such as patches, gum, lozenges, or inhaler
Option 2: Approved prescription medication (Zyban or Champix)

PEI Pharmacare - Substance Use Harm Reduction Drug Program

Provides individuals with full cost coverage of approved substance and alcohol use treatment medications. Includes:

Methadone
Suboxone
Probuphine
Sublocade
Acamprosate
Naltrexone

PEI Pharmacare - Transplant Anti-Rejection Drug Program

Provides eligible applicants with full cost coverage for approved transplant anti-rejection drugs.

Take Home Naloxone Program

Free take home naloxone kits are available to anyone at risk of experiencing or witnessing a drug-related overdose at the following distribution sites:
