Peer Support - Kidney Connect Program Provided by: Kidney Foundation of Canada - Atlantic Branch - AKA: Kidney Foundation of Canada - PEI (former name)

Provides one-on-one peer support for Individuals with or affected by kidney disease. Participants will be paired with volunteers who have first-hand experience coping with kidney disease.

Support Match PEI Provided by: Prince Edward Island Association for Community Living - AKA: ACL; PEIACL; PEI Association for Community Living

Helps connect families with support workers able to provide home support on either a volunteer or fee-for-service basis. Families and support workers are added to a registry database which can be searched to find possible family/worker matches. The types of services offered by support workers may include:

Respite care
Helping client access supports in the community
General support to families

Enables people who are have hearing and speech impairments to communicate with 9-1-1 operators in an emergency. Users must be registered to use the service.

Therapeutic Riding Provided by: Joyriders Therapeutic Riding Association of PEI - AKA: Joyriders

Provides therapeutic riding lessons for individuals who have an intellectual or physical disability. Offers a series of weekly riding lessons in the spring and fall and a series of weekly introductory lessons in the summer.
