Early Years Autism Services

Service Description
Early Years Autism Specialists provide individualized services to help preschool and kindergarten aged children who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders to acquire new skills. Appointments occur at the child's home, early learning centre or school and services can include:
- Intensive Behavioural Intervention (I.B.I.) for up to 25 hours per week to help children with communication and everyday living skills
- Transition to school planning
- Intensive Kindergarten Support (I.K.S.)

Eligibility:
Young children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders before entering school
Provisional diagnosis of any of the above will be accepted for referral and placement on the waitlist but diagnosis must be confirmed in writing prior to beginning of services.

How to Access:
Formal referral must be submitted by the diagnosing registered medical professional (e.g. psychologist, pediatrician, psychiatrist)
