Rebates and Repairs

Provides a free voluntary property assessment for residents who seek to determine and mitigate their home and property's risk to wildfire. An assessment is conducted by a formally trained assessor.

Note: Self-assessment is recommended before requesting an assessment.

Provides grants up to $10,000 to eligible homeowners to make their primary resident homes more energy-efficient. Additional $600 will be provided for mandatory pre- and post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluations. At least one of upgrades listed in the evaluation report is to be completed to access to the grant. Interest free loan for upgrades are available up to $40,000.

Eligible upgrades include:

• Home insulation
• Air-sealing
• Windows and doors
• Thermostat
• Space and water heating

Note: Individuals can access both the Canada Greener Homes Grant and effiencyPEI rebates.

Rebate for homeowners who install Energy Star certified heating equipment including:

• Heat pumps
• Boilers and heaters
• Water saving devices
• Biomass heating devices
• Other eligible energy saving products

As of April 15, 2026, Energy Efficiency Equipment Rebates are paused, with the exception of biomass equipment.

Rebate program for homeowners who install energy efficient insulation, air sealing improvements and Energy Star rated windows and doors.

Free services offered for eligible households to help insulate their homes from cold weather and help make houses more energy efficient. Includes:

• Air sealing
• Energy efficient light bulbs
• Low flow showerhead
• Programmable thermostat
• Voucher for a free furnace/boiler cleaning

Provides repayable loans up to $10,000 towards 100% of invoiced costs to help homeowners with upfront costs for equipment, materials, and installation for applicants approved under the following efficiencyPEI programs:

• Energy Efficient Equipment Rebate
• Home Insulation Rebate
• Energy Efficiency Loan Program for Solar Photovoltaic Equipment

Approved applicants can apply for one loan under this program. However, after the loan is paid off, they can apply for another loan.

Provides free insulation to eligible applicants. Access PEI connects homeowners with contractors who will install the insulation.
