Supports the right of children and youth in Epekwitk / PEI, making sure they have a voice in decisions that affect them. Responsible for the PEI Children and Youth Advisory Committee. The Child and Youth Advocate is an independent officer of the Legislative Assembly.

Child and Youth Advocate

PEI's Child and Youth Advocate is an independent officer of the Legislative Assembly and supports the rights of children through individual advocacy services such as:

Hearing concerns directly from children, youth and their families and helping them to have their concerns heard and taken seriously.
Concerns might centre around experiences with government agencies such as:
- Adoption Services
- Health/Mental Health/Addiction Services
- Child Protection
- Education
- Justice
- Social Services
- Or other agencies.
Connects youth and their families to programs and services

Note: Children and youth have the right to talk to the Child and Youth Advocate privately.
