Provides monthly disability benefits to people who have made enough contributions to the CPP and who are disabled and cannot work at any job on a regular basis.

The payment amount varies - there is a basic amount and additional money based on how much an individual paid into the Canadian Pension Plan while working.

Individuals receiving a CPP disability benefit may be eligible for vocational counseling, financial support for training, and job-search services.

Services offered may include:
  • Employment counselling and guidance: One-on-one guidance to identify needs, assess education and current job skills, discuss work goals and find out about the current local job market
  • Planning a return to work: A vocational rehabilitation specialist will help develop an individualized return-to-work rehabilitation plan in consultation with the treating doctor or nurse practitioner
  • Improving skills/retraining: CPP may cover the costs to improve skills, upgrade education or retrain to secure a job
  • Developing job-search skills: After work-related rehabilitation is completed, the vocational rehabilitation specialist can help participants find work

Monthly CPP benefit for retirement pension beneficiaries found to be disabled but not eligible for a disability pension due to being CPP retirement pension beneficiaries for more than 15 months.

Applicants who have made sufficient contributions may be eligible for this benefit in addition to their retirement pension until they are 65 years.

Helps to cover a portion of the closing cost on first home purchase of eligible individuals who live in Epekwitk / PEI. Eligible applicants can apply to receive a contribution of up to $2,500 to support the closing costs of the purchase.

Supports income eligible households to have access to internet at home with affordable prices in partnership with participating Internet providers. The packages are $10 or $20 per month depending on preferred internet speed and data capacity. Eligible households will receive a letter with an access code from the Government of Canada. If a household has NOT received the letter, they are not able to sign up for the initiative.

Note: If the letter is lost, it cannot be re-issued.

An instant rebate of $500 is available for e-bike purchases that retail from $1,200 (before tax). Rebate is applied at the cash register. One rebate is eligible for residents and up to five rebates for organizations per calendar year.

E-bikes must meet the following conditions:
  • Electric motor must be 500 watts or less
  • Two or three wheels that touch the ground
  • Maximum speed of 32 km/h
  • Maximum weight of 120kg
  • All other regulations as set out by the Highway Safety Act

Rebate for homeowners who install Energy Star certified heating equipment including:

  • Heat pumps
  • Boilers and heaters
  • Water saving devices
  • Biomass heating devices
  • Other eligible energy saving products

As of April 15, 2026, Energy Efficiency Equipment Rebates are paused, with the exception of biomass equipment.
