Parents Empowering Kids Provided by: Strongest Families Institute - AKA: SFI

Self-directed four month program that helps caregivers learn to deal with common childhood behaviour problems such as temper outbursts, not listening, verbal and physical aggression, and difficulties paying attention. Includes:

A handbook and DVD and/or website access
Behaviour chart
Daily report card for the school
Weekly 45 minute phone sessions with either one-on-one coaching or group-based with other parents/caregivers dealing with similar challenges

Park Street Emergency Shelter Provided by: Government of Prince Edward Island - Department of Housing and Communities - AKA: Housing, Land and Communities (former name)

Provides an overnight shelter for adults experiencing homelessness.The gender inclusive 50-bed shelter offers units that have one or two dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathroom and showers. Services include:

Showers
Accessible units for individuals with physical mobility challenges
Laundry facilities
Overnight storage for personal belongings including bicycles
Breakfast and light meal options such as sandwiches
Transportation by a free shuttle bus to downtown is available each morning
Referrals to community partner organizations for support services
Pets can be accommodated if there are no other options for pet care
Beds can be booked for up to 30 days at a time
Transportation to and from the shelter from outside Charlottetown can be arranged, if required through the Shelter Support Line at 1-833-220-4722

Note: When wind chill temperatures reach -20°C or lower for two consecutive hours, the shelter opens at 4pm instead of 8pm.
