Provides low cost accommodations to families with a child age 18 or younger who has an appointment, treatment, surgery, or other medical reason to visit the IWK or another medical facility in Halifax. Services offered during stays include:

Private bedrooms
Shared bathrooms
Linens, towels and complimentary laundry facilities
Full kitchen and dining area (guests must supply their own food and clean up after themselves)
Home for Dinner program that offers families a home cooked meal three times a week
Complimentary bread, milk, juice, coffee
Common living room, television access, public computer with internet access, and free wi-fi
Arts and crafts area, playroom and outdoor playground for children

Roots and Shoots Provided by: PEERS Alliance - AKA: PEERS; Prevent Educate Empower Respect Support; Formerly AIDS PEI

A supportive, non-judgmental space for families with trans or gender diverse children to meet and have discussions with other parents, staff and volunteers of PEERS Alliance. Parents/caregivers will unlearn myths about gender identity and replace those myths with knowledge and support around issues of gender diversity.

The program is based on the two most important parts of a plant: the roots (parents and caregivers) are responsible for nurturing the shoots (children and dependents) to be the best version of themselves they can be.

For parents and caregivers: Can join Roots and Shoots group
For trans and gender diverse youth ages 12-18 years: Can join a supportive space called Saplings at Charlottetown. For youth in Summerside can join Rainbow Youth Club which occurs at the same time as Roots and Shoots.
For gender creative children ages 13 years and younger: Can join shoots portion of the evening that is offered partnership with Wild Child PEI. It includes fun, outdoor programming with staff, volunteers, and kids who are just like them.

Provides harm reduction resources and support to individuals who use drugs in rural and small-town communities across Epekwitk / PEI through scheduled stops at designated locations. Stop requests can be made via phone, text, or email.

Provides frozen meal delivery to currently unserved or underserved communities that are not served by the Meals on Wheels PEI.

Safe Haven Provided by: PEI Humane Society - AKA: PEIHS; Prince Edward Island Humane Society

Provides temporary safe emergency housing for pets during times of transition and crisis, includes food, daily walks and socialization.

This program is available when space is available at the PEI Humane Society. The shelter reserves the right to deny applicants to this program if shelter capacity is limited.

Peer-to-peer safer use education for individuals who use street sourced substances. Education offered through:

S-Anon Phone and Online Meetings Provided by: S-Anon International Family Groups - AKA: S-Anon

Self-help groups available online and by phone for people who are affected by someone else's sexual behaviour or addiction. Group offers a supportive environment to share experiences and follow a 12-step spiritual program of recovery.

Santa's Angels Provided by: Santa's Angels

Santa and his elves visit homes on Christmas morning. They bring:

A small gift for the kids
Food box that includes a ham, vegetables, eggs, milk, and other items

2025 Registration: November 13th-December 11th (or when program is full)

Applicants will receive a phone call letting them know if Santa's Angel can visit.

Provides online support meetings for youth ages 12 to 19, who have been affected by the sexual behavior of someone close to them. S-Ateen meetings are guided by certified, adult S-Ateen Group Sponsors and follow S-Ateen's Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions. Includes:
