Helps to cover a portion of the closing cost on first home purchase of eligible individuals who live in Epekwitk / PEI. Eligible applicants can apply to receive a contribution of up to $2,500 to support the closing costs of the purchase.

Islanders can apply for rental housing in Family Housing units located in nine communities or be provided with a rent supplement benefit to help pay for private landlord owned housing anywhere in PEI. For most applicants, rent is based on 25% of total household gross income.

Provides financial assistance to help cover the cost of major structural renovations to private homes. Eligible renovations include structural, heating, plumbing, and electrical systems, improvement for life safety, and accessibility upgrades for applicants with a permanent disability.

Provides general information and advice on available housing programs and options offered by government and by other PEI organizations. Individuals and service providers can call for information if they are unsure where else to turn for housing help.

Eligible individuals can apply for rental housing in Seniors Housing units in 32 communities across PEI or be provided with a rent supplement benefit to help pay for private landlord owned housing in any PEI community. Rent is based on the income of the tenant.

Provides eligible seniors with funds to improve their home's accessibility.

The program prevents the development of land that is identified for non-development use by protecting and preserving resource land from being sub-divided or developed for commercial or industrial use, and to protect it against land speculation.

Provides online resources to access various types of GIS data and aerial photographs of PEI.

Provides an overnight shelter for adults experiencing homelessness.

Subdivision approval is required when any parcel of land is divided (e.g., to create a new lot or lots). An approval is also required to add more land to an existing lot, or to join two or more lots.

Concerned residents living in jurisdictions that do not have their own unsightly property by-laws can file an unsightly property complaint against properties they think are in violation of the Unsightly Property Act. A department representative will inspect the site.
