Applicants must be:
-A resident of PEI
-A Canadian citizen or have landed immigrant or have permanent resident status (Record of Landing required)
-First time applicants over age 22 years will undergo a credit history check
-A full-time student at a designated post-secondary institution (see website for definition of full-time)
-Must be willing to follow the loan repayment schedule once education is completed

Individuals who feel their student loan application was not assessed properly according to financial need * Only appealable expenses will be considered (see website for full details)

Applicants must already have been approved to have their federal student loan debt cancelled under the Federal Severe Permanent Disability Benefit program

PEI residents who: Have defaulted on the provincial portion of their student loan * Have less than two prior attempts to rehabilitate their PEI student loan

Resident of PEI * Enrolled in a medical residency program * Have a PEI provincial student loan balance * Applicants may apply at any point during their medical residency but payment relief is not retroactive and will commence when the application is received.

Individuals who have borrowed from the PEI Student Loan Program and who have graduated from a post-secondary institution in the last three years * Must be a PEI resident (living in PEI for a minimum of six months before the application date)

Varies by bursary * Must be a PEI resident who is a Canadian or permanent resident

Applicants must:
-Be unemployed
-Lack the skills or education to find work
-Be legally authorized to work in Canada (citizen or permanent resident)
-Be out of high school for at least one year
-Have a current claim for Employment Insurance (EI) claim or have a previous EI claim that has ended within the previous 60 months
-Other criteria may apply
