School-aged children and adults with diagnosed or undiagnosed learning disabilities that impact their reading and spelling abilities.

Children and youth in the Atlantic Provinces attending public schools and Designated Special Education Private Schools in Nova Scotia and receive tuition support, eligible for services shall have a diagnosis from a licensed eye specialist within the last 12 months as having one of the following:

-Visual acuity of 6/21 (20/70) or less, at near or distance, in the better eye with best correction
-A visual diagnosis or related visual stamina that is not correctable and results in the child's functioning as if their visual acuity is limited to 6/21 (20/70) or less
-Visual field of 20 degrees or less, or a diagnosis of hemianopsia or bilateral scotomas
-Any progressive eye disease with a prognosis of becoming one of the above in the next few years
-Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI)
-Temporary eye conditions such as post-operative retinal detachment or patching where service for a limited time is required
-Demonstrates limited ability to visually access the full range of program-appropriate media and materials

Applicants must be:
- Hard of hearing, deafened, or oral deaf
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident/landed immigrant, Convention refugee or protected person living in Canada, as defined in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Enrolled or planning to register for the fall semester in a full-time program as a first-time, returning, or mature student at a recognized post-secondary College or University

You must be:
-Blind, Deafblind, or have low vision (Example: best corrected visual acuity of 20/70" and/or you have a visual field of 20 degrees or narrower)
-A Canadian citizen or have held landed immigrant status for one year prior to the date of application
-A university graduate who is pursuing a Master's degree
-Planning to study at a Canadian university, or a foreign university where a commitment to return to Canada is expressed
-Having a high academic standing with demonstrated superior intellectual ability and judgment

Ages 18 years and older * Individuals not currently receiving services from another agency * Primary diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder
