Ages 3-17 years * Diagnosed with a critical illness that is currently in the life threatening stage * Has not received a prior wish from any wish-granting organization

Eligible applicants must:

-Be a resident of Epekwitk / PEI
-Be a parent or primary caregiver of one or more children under the age of 18 who live with the applicant
-Have a family net income of $80,000 or less per year
-File an income tax return every year. If the applicant has a spouse or common-law partner, they must also file an income tax return every year

Parents of children up to and including age 12 years * Use the Child Care Subsidy Calculator available on the website to determine subsidy eligibility

Children in their kindergarten year * Parents with or without private insurance can access the program for their child

Must meet all of the following criteria:
-Eligible income families who are supporting at least one child under the age of 19 years or supporting at least one child under the age of 25 years who is a full time student
-PEI resident
-Have a valid health card
-Have filed PEI tax returns and agreed to household income verification through Canada Revenue Agency

Families with children who travel at least 100km outside of Halifax, have a financial need, and receive frequent care

Individuals who are away from work because they are pregnant, have recently given birth, or adopted a child. Must:
- Be employed in insurable employment
-Meet the specific criteria for receiving EI maternity or parental benefits
- Have normal weekly earnings that are reduced by more than 40%
- Have accumulated at least 420 hours of insurable employment during the qualifying period or, if a self-employed fisher, they have earned enough money during the qualifying period
