Applicants must already have been approved to have their federal student loan debt cancelled under the Federal Severe Permanent Disability Benefit program

To be eligible must be:

-An individual with a disability diagnosed by a health professional
-Experiencing significant impairment as a result of a diagnosed disability that is expected to last for 12 months or more
-A PEI resident with a provincial health number
-A Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
-Under the age of 65 at the time of application

Requirements vary depending on scholarship type

Current member with a physical disability who is entering post-secondary education.

Residents of Canada with a confirmed diagnosis of MS who meet the low income cut-off (LICO) * Assessment of need by a healthcare professional

Must be:
- Blind, deafblind, or have low vision (Example: best corrected visual acuity of 20/70" and/or you have a visual field of 20 degrees or narrower)
- Canadian citizen or have held immigrant status for at least one year prior to the date of application
- Pursuing a post-secondary diploma, degree, skilled trades certificate, apprenticeship, continuing education program, or equivalent
- Independent person and able to demonstrate a reasonable level of personal achievement

Canadian residents with sight loss who are registered with CNIB

Individuals with muscular dystrophy who are registered clients of Muscular Dystrophy Canada
