Travel to and from PEI: PEI Pass

Service Description

A travel pass that verifies that individuals have been fully vaccinated and confirms that isolation is not required on arrival in PEI. The Pass applies to anyone entering PEI, including residents, regardless of where they have travelled outside of the province. The pass is valid for multiple visits. If approved for a pass, no further declaration or registration is required. It is recommended to apply two weeks before travel to PEI.

The pass is not a requirement for entry into PEI, however, vaccinated individuals who do not register for the pass will likely be required to isolate.

A separate application is required for each fully vaccinated person aged 12 and over. Children under 12 years travelling with their vaccinated parents/families are not required to self-isolate.

PEI Pass approvals are sent by email (check junk mail if you have not received it). The letter and approval number is the pass. It can be printed or shown on your phone on arrival in PEI.

The pass is valid until the end of PEI's public health state of emergency.

Registered workers who have registered their vaccination status with the CPHO will automatically be provided with a pass

Required conditions for those who have a PEI Pass
Individuals who receive a PEI Pass will be eligible to enter PEI without isolation, provided they meet the following conditions:
  • Have not been diagnosed with or showed symptoms of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to travel to PEI
  • Have not been in contact with someone with active COVID-19 or in isolation in the 14 days prior to travel to PEI
  • Are tested on entry as directed by public health officials
  • Monitor for symptoms and seek testing as soon as possible if symptoms develop
?Individuals who have a PEI Pass based on having one dose of COVID-19 vaccine who have since received their second dose do not need to update their PEI Pass application but do need to travel with their second dose vaccination record at present it at the border.

Those who do not meet the requirement of a PEI Pass are required to complete a Self-Isolation Declaration Form:


Individuals over the age of 12 years who are fully vaccinated (two doses and 14 days post second dose) * People travelling through PEI to the Magdalen Islands are not eligible

Documents Required:
Official vaccination record and government issued ID which demonstrates proof of residency. PEI residents are not required to upload ID and can choose to consent to public health officials verifying proof of vaccination instead of uploading their vaccine record.
