Summerside Emergency Shelter

Service Description
Provides an overnight shelter for adults experiencing homelessness.
The gender inclusive 10-bed shelter is provided in the units that have one or two dorm-style bedrooms with options for individuals with physical mobility challenges, couples and individuals in need of shelter who have pets. Services include:
- Showers
- Laundry facilities
- Safe storage of belongings
- Breakfast and supper food options
- Case management and referrals to community partner organizations for support services
Individuals who are experiencing housing insecurity, or at risk of homelessness, but who are not staying at the Shelter can access showers each Tuesday and Thursday between 5pm-6pm
Note: When wind chill temperatures reach -20°C or lower for two consecutive hours, the shelter opens at 4pm instead of 8pm.

How to Access:
Call to book a bed * Intake and safety screening completed at each stay, but can book a bed up to 30 days at a time * Clients are asked to arrive before midnight, but can leave the site at any time through the night
