Service Description
Provides financial assistance to eligible individuals and families to help pay for basic needs. A financial need is when basic needs cost more than income.
Basic Needs:
Note: Social Assistance will ask clients to have looked into all possible ways to receive money. For example, Employment Insurance (EI) or Canada Pension Plan (CPP).
Basic Needs:
- Food
- Clothing
- Household items
- Telephone or internet costs
- Shelter
- Utilities (power, heat, fuel, and water)
- Financial supports to meet emergency needs of people experiencing family violence
- Medications and eyeglasses
- Transportation Costs
- Security deposits for rent or utilities
- Child care
- Cable television
- Car payments and/or car insurance payments
- Other outstanding debts
Note: Social Assistance will ask clients to have looked into all possible ways to receive money. For example, Employment Insurance (EI) or Canada Pension Plan (CPP).

On a case-by-case basis * Level of assistance is calculated based on: Income * Number of children in household * Whether home is owned or rented * Other factors - contact for details

How to Access:
Call to be screened for eligibility. If eligibility is met, an intake appointment will be set up.
Documents Required:
Intake appointment requires: ID * Bank Statements * Pay Stubs for the last 31 days * Utility Bills * Verification of Expenses * Confirmation of Residency * Direct Deposit Information * Others documents as required
