Social Programs - Seniors Independence Initiative

Service Description

Provides eligible seniors with financial assistance to help them pay for practical services that help them stay in their own homes. Services covered by funding include:
  • General home/property maintenance
  • Light house keeping
  • Snow removal
  • Grass cutting
  • Meal preparation
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Errands
  • Transportation


PEI residents age 65 years or older who:
-Live independently or with a spouse
-Have a net household income of $26,500 or less for a single person OR $34,000 or less for a couple, as defined by line 236 on your CRA Notice of Assessment
-Have combined assets not greater than $100,000 excluding primary residence, land and vehicles

*Family members are eligible service providers if they do not live in the same home as the senior
