Service Description

Provides a tax-free monthly payment to eligible families to help offset the costs of raising children. PEICB will be in addition to the federal Canada Child Benefit and is administered by CRA on behalf of the Government of PEI.

Information

Eligibility:
Eligible applicants must:

-Be a resident of Epekwitk / PEI
-Be a parent or primary caregiver of one or more children under the age of 18 who live with the applicant
-Have a family net income of $80,000 or less per year
-File an income tax return every year. If the applicant has a spouse or common-law partner, they must also file an income tax return every year

Eligible families will be enrolled automatically
Documents Required:
To receive the PEICB you have to file your tax return every year, even if you did not have income in the year * If you have a spouse or common-law partner, they must also file a return every year * Other documents confirming marital status, residency, or the primary caregiver may be requested after the initial application
