Service Description

Provides a training program for those working toward professional certification in a designated skilled trade in PEI. The program offers a combination of on-the-job training with a qualified tradesperson (80%) with in-class training (20%).

A list of designated skilled trades in PEI is available on the website.

Applicants must already have secured employment with a qualified tradesperson they can train under.

Eligibility:
Applicants must:
-Have reached age 18 years within the calendar year of registering as an apprentice (excluding individuals registered as a youth apprentice or requesting entry as a mature student)
-Have a high school completion certificate or equivalent such as a GED
-Be working at a designated skilled trade with a suitable employer
