Service Description

Provides financial assistance to eligible individuals to help them complete a post-secondary certificate or diploma and transition to sustainable employment in a health related priority occupation currently experiencing skill shortages in PEI.

Up to 70% of course costs are paid and students are are responsible for the remainder of the course costs. Further financial supports may be available while participating in training.

Information

Eligibility:
Individuals who are unemployed, underemployed or self-employed and lack the necessary skills to secure sustainable employment and who are:

-Legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizen or permanent resident)
-A protected person within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
-Accepted to a post-secondary training program for Resident Care Worker, Practical Nursing (LPN), Primary Care Paramedicine, Advanced Care Paramedicine or the Accelerated Nursing Program at UPEI
-Other criteria may apply
