Roots and Shoots

Provided by: PEERS Alliance - AKA: PEERS; Prevent Educate Empower Respect Support; Formerly AIDS PEI

Service Description

A supportive, non-judgmental space for families with trans or gender diverse children to meet and have discussions with other parents, staff and volunteers of PEERS Alliance. Parents/caregivers will unlearn myths about gender identity and replace those myths with knowledge and support around issues of gender diversity. Light refreshments are served.

The program is based on the two most important parts of a plant: the roots (parents and caregivers) are responsible for nurturing the shoots (children and dependents) to be the best version of themselves they can be.

Offered in partnership with Wild Child PEI.

Gender creative children under 13 years of age can come along as well for fun with Sierra Club PEI Wild Child staff and volunteers and other kids who are just like them. Cisgender siblings under 13 years are welcome too.
