Service Description

Provides assistance to preschool aged children who need help developing speech and language abilities. Includes:
  • Consultation
  • Screening and assessment
  • Treatment
  • Workshops
  • Community visits
  • Caregiver training
Note: If your child is school-aged, contact your school directly to ask about supports offered within the school system.

Information

Eligibility:
Children from infancy up to entering kindergarten * Consider referring a child if he or she:
-Does not respond when spoken to or react to loud noises
-Experiences sudden loss of speech and language ability
-Is not babbling by age 9 months
-Has not said first words by age 15 months
-Cannot say consistent words by age 18 months
-Is unable to speak word combinations by age 24 months
-If you cannot understand what they are saying by age 24 months
-If strangers cannot understand what they are saying by age 36 months
