Post-Secondary Scholarships

Service Description

Provides multiple scholarships and bursaries to support individuals who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision to cover post-secondary studies. By Submitting an application, applicants will automatically considered for any eligible scholarships based on the criteria.

Information

Eligibility:
Must be:
- Blind, deafblind, or have low vision (Example: best corrected visual acuity of 20/70" and/or you have a visual field of 20 degrees or narrower)
- Canadian citizen or have held immigrant status for at least one year prior to the date of application
- Pursuing a post-secondary diploma, degree, skilled trades certificate, apprenticeship, continuing education program, or equivalent
- Independent person and able to demonstrate a reasonable level of personal achievement

Proof of secondary education completion * Academic transcript * At least two letters of reference from a teacher, school official or volunteer supervisor * A short essay (up to 2 pages or 1,000 words) about how this scholarship will change what it means to be blind for me in my education * List of other sources of funding
