Pleasure Craft Licence

Service Description

Vessels used for personal, recreation, or daily living require a Pleasure Craft Licence, which is a document with a unique licence number that is to be attached to the boat. The number serves as identification for the vessel and allows search and rescue personnel to access important information in an emergency.

Licences must be renewed every 10 years.

Eligibility:
All owners of pleasure crafts must register if they:
-Are going to use their vessel commercially and it's powered by motors totalling 7.5 kW (10 horsepower) or more
-Plan to use your vessel outside of Canada
-Need a marine mortgage registered with Transport Canada
-Require a reserved name
