PEI Pharmacare - Diabetes Drug Program

Service Description
Effective May 1, 2025 many insulin products and oral diabetes medications are eligible for full coverage under National Pharmacare Program (NPP)
Provides eligible applicants with partial cost coverage for approved medications and supplies that are not covered by NPP, including:
- Insulin products
- Oral medications
- Urine-testing materials
- Blood strips

Eligibility:
Permanent PEI residents diagnosed with diabetes * Must be registered in the Provincial Diabetes Program
Fees:
Yes * Must be able to pay your portion of costs
How to Access:
Physician, nurse practitioner or other health care provider must complete and submit the referral form available online to the Provincial Diabetes Program * Visit website for more information
