Out-of-Province Travel Support

Service Description

Islanders who have been pre-approved for out-of-province medical services may be eligible for assistance to pay for travel to their appointments through the following programs:
  • Maritime Bus Program: Fare subsidies are available for eligible applicants to get to appointments in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia
  • Hope Air Flight, Bridge and Ferry Toll Programs: See 211 listing for Hope Air, the province partners with Hope Air on these initiatives but application process is directly through Hope Air. From September 12, 2022, an additional support to the existing bridge toll/ferry pass program, $100 worth ESSO gas card is provided.

Maritime Bus Program: 100% bus ticket subsidy if annual net household income if $0-$35,000 * 50% bus ticket subsidy if annual net household income is $35,001-$50,000 * Annual net household income is based on Line 236 on your most recent CRA Notice of Assessment
