Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Grant

Service Description
Provides funds to help income eligible households that have income up to $129,000 to switch from home heating oil to electric heat pump.
The Government of PEI has finalized agreements with the Government of Canada to deliver the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program (OHPA) benefits through the Free Net Zero Program. To apply, visit the the Free Net Zero program website for Epekwitk / PEI residents.
The fund is provided up to 5,000 and a one-time payment of $250 from Natural Resources Canada if assessed eligible.
The covered costs include:
- Purchase and installation of an eligible heat pump
- Electrical upgrades that are required for the new heat pump
- Removal of the oil tank
Note: The funds details are different from the other provinces where the program is delivered from the Government of Canada.

Household has an after-tax income at or below the median * House must be owned primary resident and their home is oil-heated as of January 2023
