Service Description
Provides impartial and independent investigations into complaints from citizens against public sector bodies. The Ombudsperson evaluates the fairness of process, treatment, and decision-making by public agencies.
Complaints can be made about decisions, recommendations (including those made to a Minister) that are made, and acts that were done or omitted to be done by the following groups:

- Boards, commissions, associations, and other bodies if:
- All members are appointed by an Act or by an order of Cabinet
- All members are public officers or servants of the Government or are directly or indirectly responsible to the Government
- Health PEI
- Municipalities
- Council members (including allegations of conflict of interest or contravention of a code of conduct)
- Board members
- Officers and employees of the Government

The complaint must first try to be resolved through the organization's internal complaint/appeal process. If no resolution, call or email the Ombudsperson for steps to begin complaint process.
