Service Description
Provides coverage for certain diabetes medications and contraceptives, and expands access to blood glucose test strips. Some examples of contraceptives and diabetes medications eligible for coverage include:
- Intrauterine devices (IUD)
- Oral contraceptives
- Diabetes oral agents
- Insulin

Note: Medications not covered by the National Pharmacare Program but listed in the PEI Pharmacare programs remain available for PEI residents.

Eligibility:
PEI resident as defined by the Drug Cost Assistance Act,, whose medication is included in the list of drugs covered by the National Pharmacare program
Fees:
No fees
How to Access:
Eligible PEI residents are automatically enrolled, except for blood glucose test strips, which require enrollment in the Diabetes Drug Program
