Service Description

Provides free loans of books, DVDs and other multimedia to people who register for a library card. Most public library locations also offer:
  • Child and youth programs
  • Public access computers
  • Reference desk services
  • Interlibrary loans
  • Access to online resources such as music, language courses and more
  • Non-traditional objects for borrowing, such as: Telescopes * Snowshoes * Yoga mats * Fitness kits * Sensory kits for people with autism, Alzheimer's, ADHD, dementia, and other sensitives * And more
COVID-19 UPDATE: Beginning July 20, 2020, the public can enter libraries to borrow books, DVDs, musical instruments, and access computers by appointment. Some libraries are not offering public seating, children's toys, and in-person programming. The public is encouraged to continue to use online services such as story time, book clubs, library card registration, audio and ebooks.

Eligibility:
Residents of Prince Edward Island * Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when visiting the library to confirm membership
Fees:
No fee to become a member * Fees apply if items are lost, damaged or returned late

Completed application form * Must present photo ID and proof of address when confirming membership for first time at library branch
