Service Description

A school-based program for children who are experiencing changes in their lives due to parental separation, divorce or parenting from two homes. Trained facilitators work with school guidance counselors to guide children through age-appropriate activities and discussions. Topics include:
  • Definition of family
  • Changes that separation and divorce bring to a family
  • How separation, divorce and parenting from two homes affects children
  • Children's concerns about how the parents separating or divorcing will affect their future
  • Ideas on how to help children talk with their parents

Eligibility:
Children and youth are referred to the program by teachers, school counselors, parents, or other adults in their lives who think they could benefit from the program * Children and youth who attend a school where the program is offered
