Service Description

Island seniors can apply for rental housing in Seniors Housing units in 32 communities across PEI or to be provided with a rent supplement benefit to help pay for private landlord owned housing in any PEI community. Rent is based on the income of the tenant.

Eligibility:
PEI residents age 60 years and older * Residents age 55 or older can apply if they have a disability
Fees:
Yes * Successful applicants must pay their portion of rent, which is calculated based on 25% of their gross income from line 150 of their Notice of Assessment
How to Access:
Complete online application or submit paper application by mail or at any Housing Services office * Staff will then contact applicants to schedule an in-home interview
Documents Required:
Staff will inform applicants what documents are required for Proof of Income when they call to book the in-home interview
