Housing Services - Seniors Home Repair Program

Service Description

Provides financial assistance to seniors to help with eligible home repairs such as:
  • Roof repairs
  • Windows and doors
  • Furnace
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Heating
  • Structural or life safety repairs
Maximum grants are based on combined annual income:
  • $35,000 or less: $4,000
  • $35,001-$38,000: $3,600
  • $38,001-$41,000: $3,200
  • $41,001-$44,000: $2,800
  • $44,0001-$47,000: $2,400
  • $47,001-$50,000: $2,000

Information

Eligibility:
Must:
-Be 60 years and older at the time of application
-Be a PEI resident (have a PEI Health Card) and a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
-Have a combined income is $50,000 or less
-Currently reside in the property and it be your principle residence
-Be the owner of the property or have a life interest in the property
-Property valued at $300,000 or less
-Have not met the maximum grant through previous applications to the PEI Home Renovation Programs

Applicants who have applied to the PEI Home Renovation Program will automatically be assessed for the Seniors Home Repair Program

Apply online or download the application form from the website and return by email, fax, in person to the Main Office or to any Access PEI location

Notice of Assessment from previous tax year * Proof of home ownership * Two price quotes for renovation work * PEI Health Card Number * Social Insurance Number
