Service Description

Volunteers visit wherever the client resides and will help out in ways to improve quality of life, as determined by the client. This can include:
  • Helping with light chores or meal preparation
  • A few hours respite for caregivers
  • General company, listening and talking with the client
  • Taking the client on outings
  • Reading
  • Meditation
  • Music care
  • Therapeutic touch
  • Transportation to appointments
  • Resources

Eligibility:
Open to those with a palliative diagnosis and their caregivers

No fees
How to Access:
Self-referral through calling or emailing the local office, or referral from a health care team
Documents Required:
Verification of diagnosis through an assessment by Hospice PEI
