Service Description

Households earning below a set annual income may be eligible for financial assistance of up to $1200 per calendar year toward their home heating costs from oil, wood, wood pellets, propane or electrical heat.

Does not issue a rebate on heating that has already been ordered/paid. Program only pays for heating arranged by the Salvation Army.

Eligibility:
Households earning a maximum gross income of:
-$45,000 for one person households
-$60,000 for a family of two or more

Social Assistance recipients are not eligible

How to Access:
Drop off or email completed application from *Call and book an appointment for Charlottetown and Summerside if need assistance with application * Applications available online and from Access PEI and Public Libraries
Documents Required:
Completed application form * Valid photo ID * Previous year's Notice of Assessment * Proof of address * An outstanding invoice that is due to home heating * For oil, oil tank tag number and expiry date
