Service Description

New hunters must take a federal Firearms Safety Course before being issued a hunting licence in PEI. The Government of Prince Edward Island delivers this course locally on behalf of the federal government. Upon successful completion of the course, students may be issued one of the following licences depending on their age:
  • Age 18 years and over: Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for non-restricted firearms
  • Age 17 years and under: Minor's Licence which allows the person to borrow and use non-restricted firearms
