Service Description

Provides a $100 grocery gift card to employees who have been laid off as a result of the COVID-19 public health circuit breaker measures announced on February 27, 2021. Only applies to the following industries:
  • Recreational facilities, including gyms, fitness facilities, bingo halls, casinos, museums and libraries
  • Restaurants
  • Retail stores and markets
  • Other industries impacted by public health measures

Employers submit the application to government on behalf of their laid off employees. The employer then receives gift card letters to distribute to affected employees.

Application deadline is April 15, 2021


Employers in the listed impacted industries who have issued an ROE for a lay-off between February 28-March 14, 2021 due to the public health measures announced February 27, 2021

How to Access:
The employer must submit a separate application form (available online) for every 25 employees they have laid off * Individual letters containing a gift card number will be sent to the employer to give to their laid off employees * Employees MUST hold on to this letter as it is what the cashier at the grocery store will use to process the transaction
