Federal Indian Day Schools Health and Cultural Support Program

Service Description
Provides supports to individuals who are affected by Federal India Day Schools and their family members. Includes:
- Cultural support (access to Elders, Knowledge Holders, traditional healers, and ceremonies)
- Emotional support
- Professional counselling
- Transportation (Assistance with transportation may be offered when professional counselling and cultural support services are not locally available)
Information
Eligibility:
Individuals who are affected by Federal India Day Schools and their family members regardless of Indigenous status or place of residence within Kanata / Canada.Family members include:
-Spouse or partner
-Parents, guardians or caretakers
-Children raised by, or raised in the household has been impacted by Indian Day School
-Any relations who have experienced effects of intergenerational trauma associated with an eligible family member's time at an Indian Day School
-Any relative who has been impacted by Indian Day School
-Spouse or partner
-Parents, guardians or caretakers
-Children raised by, or raised in the household has been impacted by Indian Day School
-Any relations who have experienced effects of intergenerational trauma associated with an eligible family member's time at an Indian Day School
-Any relative who has been impacted by Indian Day School
