Family Law - Maintenance Enforcement Program

Service Description

Administers and enforces child and spousal support obligations under the terms of a court order or separation agreement. Once an order or separation agreement is registered with the program, support payments will be sent to the program rather than directly to the person receiving the payments. The program will then forward the payments to the recipient.

Note: Permission from ex-partner is not required to register.

Eligibility:
Residents of PEI who have a child support agreement in place * Enrollment is mandatory for payees who are/apply to become income assistance recipients
Fees:
No fees * Charges may be applied for late payments and enforcement action
How to Access:
Complete and submit a registration form; available online, from the Family Law Centre or from your lawyer

Completed registration form * Copy of current court order or separation agreement
