Service Description

Provides financial incentive to homeowners, businesses, and farms to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower energy bills.

Note: Applicants may be eligible for assistance with up-front costs for materials and installation through Finance PEI's Energy Efficiency Loan Program.

Information

Eligibility:
Must meet all of the following criteria:

- Be the legal property owner, business owner and/or a bona-fide farmer
- Single-family homes, detached, side-by-side, or row homes and apartment buildings are eligible
- First Nations buildings
- Municipal buildings
- Manufactured or mobile homes must have a permanent electrical utility connection to be eligible
- Buildings must be habitable and structurally sound
- Solar PV System must be eligible for your electric utility's net metering program (Maritime Electric and City of Summerside Electric Utility)
- Work must be complete within 12 months of approval letter

Yes * Must be able to pay up-front costs of purchase and installation
How to Access:
Confirm eligibility before having any work done * Select an approved solar PV installer, then submit the completed application form by email, mail, or drop-off
Documents Required:
Once eligibility is confirmed, but prior to commencing any work, submit completed application form, a quote from the Solar PV installer and your most recent electric bill
