COVID-19 Emergency Response Program

Service Description

Assists off-reserve Indigenous peoples living on PEI who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and are in need of support including:
  • COVID-19 updates
  • Financial assistance for essential needs (short-term shelter, groceries, medical supplies, heating/electricity bills, internet fees, and educational equipment)
  • Household/personal protection equipment (PPE) kit (masks, cleaning supplies, disinfectant wipes, gloves, and a grocery gift card)
  • Woman's kit (sanitary napkins/tampons, personal hygiene products, and a pharmacy gift card)
  • Traditional medicinal kit (sweetgrass, cedar, and sage for smudging)
  • Keeping community members connected to traditional programming and reducing isolation, stress, and mental health
