Service Description

Provides free confidential support to victims in the aftermath of a crime and throughout their involvement in the criminal justice system. Also provides support to people who feel they have been victimized but have not yet reported the crime or where a charge has not yet been laid. Includes:
  • Information about case status and the justice system
  • Short-term counseling and emotional support
  • Referrals to supports and services
  • Court preparation
  • Help preparing a victim impact statement or community impact statement
  • Assistance as outlined in the Victims of Family Violence Act
  • Information to help recover financial losses
  • Coordination of services for client with other agencies

Eligibility:
Open to victims involved in the criminal justice system * Supports also available for those who feel they have been victimized by crime even if no complaint to police has been made or charge has been laid
