Service Description

An interim benefit intended to help lower dental costs for eligible families.

Depending on the family's adjusted net income, a tax-free payment of $260, $390, or $650 is available for each eligible child. The benefit is available for two periods and it is a maximum of two payments per eligible child. The periods are:
  • Period 1: October 1, 2022-June 30, 2023
  • Period 2: July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024
Payments are made by direct deposit or cheque. For direct deposit, allow up to five business days (must be set up with the CRA). Cheques should arrive within 10 business days.

Benefit payments are administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Information

Eligibility:
Families who earn less than $90,000 per year * Child must not have private dental insurance * Parent/guardian's taxes must be filed and up-to-date

Eligibility is specific to when the child receives dental care:

Period 1: The child must be under 12 years of age as of December 1, 2022 (born on or after December 2, 2010)
Period 2: The child must be under 12 years of age as of July 1, 2023 (born on or after July 2, 2011)
