Atlantic Immigrant Career Loan Fund

Service Description
Microloans for newcomers to Canada to help cover the cost associated with having their international education/credentials recognized so that they can work in their field or related field and enhance their skills and education in a related field. Includes:
- Registration fees
- Licensing and examination fees
- Training, tuition fees, related textbooks or online resources
- Living expenses (During exams or specific training)
- Travel and accommodation expenses to complete exams and courses
- Work tools
Note: If the program or training you are taking is eligible for a Government Student Loan program, it cannot be eligible for AICLF.
Information
Eligibility:
Eligible applicants must:
-Be an immigrant with Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status
-Live in Atlantic Canada (NS, NB, PEI or NL)
-Have received training or certification outside of Canada
-Have the required English or French skills to complete an employment action plan
-Not have an undischarged bankruptcy
-Have an employment specialist working with you from your local settlement agency if living outside of NS
