Appeals - Rental

Service Description

Provides information about the appeals process and Notice of Appeal forms for those wishing to submit an appeal. People can also search online for Orders that have been issued under the Rental of Residential Property Act. Appeals can be submitted for decisions related to issues such as:
  • Rental agreement disputes between tenants and landlords;
  • Rent increases for residential property or disputes about security deposits;
  • Disputes about termination of leases, including eviction; and
  • Landlords seeking unpaid rent.
Note: Sections 25 and 26(1) of the Rental of Residential Property Act provide for appeals to the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission from decisions or orders of the Director of Residential Rental Property.
